Intro to Mindful Art - Mindful Art | Session 4 Mindfulness is the practice of purposely bringing one's attention to the present moment, becoming an observer of one’s thoughts and emotions without judgment. While mindfulness has its roots in meditation, it can be practiced through activities such as art-making. Mindful art is about using art-making as a way to be in the present moment. You are simply allowing yourself to make whatever marks you feel like in the moment without concern for the end result. It's about the process, not the outcome. You will learn mindful art practices that promote relaxation, stress relief, and an increased sense of well-being. These are simple exercises anyone can do regardless of skill level. Students will need to bring their own supplies (estimated $25). Supply list will be provided by instructor.
